The neighbourhood team have provided the following description of their work:

This area is currently subject to large scale regeneration and includes Burslem Town Centre, known as the mother town, and the areas of Middleport, Longport and Westport Lake.

Formerly an industrial area for the pottery industry the area still has some light engineering firms, but is mainly residential.
