About Hart Rural North

The neighbourhood team have provided the following description of their work:

Hart Rural North is the policing area created following the merger of Hartley Wintney Ward, Eversley Ward and Hook Ward. Among others, it encompasses the villages of Hook, Hartley Wintney, Mattingley, Heckfield, Bramshill, Hazeley and Eversley.

The area predominantly consists of farmland, woodland and heathland and has numerous footpaths and bridleways popular with walkers, cyclists and horse riders alike. Apart from Hartley Wintney and Hook High Street, the area has few retail businesses but a number of well established small family firms.

Significant landmarks are parts of the Stratfield Saye Estate, home to the 1st Duke of Wellington, which he acquired in 1817 following the Battle of Waterloo and Hazeley Heath which is one of the best preserved heathlands in Hampshire and has been notified a Site of Special Scientific Interest due to its support for an array of plants and animals.
